I'm Chantel, Certified Sleep Consultant

My journey into this field started when my youngest was six months old. Lucky for me, my firstborn was a dream sleeper. I followed the best advice I could find on the internet and everything went smoothly. I really thought I had a good handle on baby sleep... until my second came along. All of the tips and tricks that worked for my first, weren't working for my second. I was at a loss. With very little left in the tank, I kept powering through. Like so many moms, I wanted to handle everything on my own and I absolutely hated asking for help. However, the sleep deprivation was really starting to take its toll. On me and my family.

MY TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

I completed my sleep training certification with renowned sleep expert Amanda Jewson from Baby's Best Sleep.

With extensive training and mentorship, I have the knowledge, education, and all of the tools and resources I need to work successfully with families of 0 to 5-year-olds in a safe, healthy, and developmentally-appropriate manner.


As a BBS Certified Sleep Consultant, I received training on:​

  • Infant and child development
  • Sleep science and behavioural modification techniques
  • Secure attachment theory
  • Support for the breastfeeding mother
  • Sleep safety and safety within the postpartum experience

It also consisted of lectures from acclaimed specialists, including but not limited to:

  • Parent-Child Attachment, Dr. Tanya Cotler, PhD, CPsych
  • Infant Feeding with Azura Goodman, RN, IBCLC
  • Sleep Disorders in Children, Dr. Anya McLaren, MD, FRCPC

My methodologies are evidence-based and my techniques are emotionally supportive.

As a certified baby and toddler sleep consultant, my primary goal is to support you in teaching your baby to fall asleep independently. Let’s face it, baby sleep is far from perfect. Even the best sleeping babies still have small night wakings or early mornings from time to time. That's why my goal is to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to guide your baby into becoming an independent sleeper, so that you feel confident and empowered to handle any future sleep disruptions that will inevitably come up, such as illness, teething, developmental milestones, etc..

I understand that every child and family is unique, which is why I provide personalized sleep plans that seamlessly integrate with your existing everyday routines. We'll work together to identify and remove any sleep associations or habits that may be hindering your child's ability to fall and stay asleep on their own, using techniques that are respectful and supportive.

With my approach, you won't have to worry about having to endure endless hours of crying or feeling emotionally drained. My goal as a Certified Baby Sleep Consultant is to make the sleep training process as stress-free and as comfortable as possible for both you and your child.
